Pret A Manger is a private company. After 25 years, founders Julian Metcalfe and Sinclair Beecham are still significant shareholders. The majority stake of the company was acquired by European equity firm Bridgepoint in 2008.
Bridgepoint was chosen as a partner to Pret because the Bridgepoint team shares both the Pret vision and understands the Pret culture. It really is business as usual for the teams. Pret remains dedicated to selling freshly prepared, good, natural food.
Bridgepoint's investment is an opportunity to transform Pret A Manger from a domestic to an international business through controlled prudent expansion while maintaining everything that makes Pret work for both our customers and staff.
We looked at each part of Pret that affects the environment and drew up a list of our priorities and, more importantly, what we’re doing about them. To find out more click here.

The good news is that all our mayos and yoghurts are pasteurised and so are completely safe for you to enjoy. Steer away from smoked salmon, sushi, brie, medium topside of beef, miso soup and prosciutto. Any questions please call us on 0845 205 0000. In addition, you can view details of all our products here.
Advice for pregnant ladies can change from time to time. Some of the foods we mention might be deemed acceptable but we prefer to err on the side of caution. If ever in doubt please check for the latest pregnancy nutritional advice with your doctor.
The volume of sandwiches, baguettes and wraps that our teams produce takes an awful lot of hard work and skill. Asking them to then select the right box for the right sandwich is, to be honest, one step more than we are currently prepared to ask of them. Additionally, on average a new product is introduced every week, which in all probability would lead to us wasting a lot of the bespoke packaging needed. A full nutritional breakdown can be found in the menu section on this website for each and every product at Pret. If you want to know about something while in the shop, any member of the team will happily find this out for you, or you could always ring us on 0845 205 0000 during office hours.
