The Pret Foundation has a simple mission - to break the cycle of hunger & homelessness.

Every night, after our shops have closed, our shop teams take on a crucial task. They gather our unsold sandwiches and salads and pack them up carefully. Soon after, food rescue organizations pick up all of the food and take it to local shelters, soup kitchens and food banks, feeding thousands of homeless and hungry people. These nightly donations are possible thanks to The Pret Foundation.

The Pret Foundation is a 501(c)(3) independently registered charity that raises money to support local food rescue partners alleviating hunger and homelessness, working with shelters and food banks to feed those in need. This work is funded through donations from select products sales and through the generous donations received in shop charity boxes.

The Pret Foundation was created in 2000 when the first Pret A Manger in NYC opened its doors. With your support, we've been able to do great work. In 2010, we donated our millionth pound of food, and in 2018, we donated five million pounds of food to feed those in need. As long as our doors are open, The Pret Foundation will continue to fight hunger and homelessness. We believe no one should ever go hungry.

Add Something Sweet

This December, 20 cents from every bakery item purchased will be donated to The Pret Foundation. Add something sweet to your day and help us raise $120,000 (or more) to help feed those who need it most this holiday season.

Eat well, be merry, do good.
