Pret A Manger Hits $50,000 Goal to Support U.S. Food Rescue Partners Through Holiday Campaign
Sandwiches That Give Back” initiative raises funds and awareness for local hunger relief via The Pret Foundation
This holiday season, Pret A Manger turned lunch into something bigger. Through its “Sandwiches That Give Back” campaign, the beloved organic coffee and freshly made food brand raised $50,000 to support hunger relief efforts across the U.S., reinforcing its long-standing commitment to community care through The Pret Foundation.
During December 2025, Pret donated a portion of sales from every sandwich, baguette or wrap sold at participating shops. In tandem with the brand’s daily food donation program, the campaign amplified Pret’s mission to reduce food waste and help fight hunger, especially during a time of year when the need is greatest. Pret’s U.S. food rescue partners include City Harvest in New York City and Food Rescue US – DC, which distribute unsold food from Pret shops to local shelters and individuals facing food insecurity.
“We know the holidays can be especially difficult for many, and this campaign was a chance to meet the moment with warmth, generosity and action,” said Nina Allard, Global Head of The Pret Foundation. “It’s a reminder that even small choices, like picking up a sandwich for lunch, can be part of something more meaningful. That local connection is at the heart of everything we do at The Pret Foundation.”
In 2024, Pret donated more than 368,000 pounds of food across the U.S. through its partnerships with food rescue organizations. Since opening its first U.S. shop, Pret has donated more than 8.5 million pounds of food to community partners nationwide.
The “Sandwiches That Give Back” campaign is one of many initiatives led by The Pret Foundation to make a difference to the lives of people affected by hunger and homelessness.
